Cinema de Merde is a great site for reading in-depth reviews of really cheesy movies. It's totally worth checking out if not only because it's not just MST3K-type films. Scott has A Night in Heaven. Scott really loves Xanadu. The reviews are written, recorded, podcasted and VIDEOCAST. Basically, there's no excuse NOT to peruse the review of GYMKATA.

Praise "Bob!" Here I have for you a wonderful old sermon (the oldies are the best, aren't they?) from Reverend Ivan Stang of the Church of the SubGenius, given around the time the Ice-T hit "Cop Killer" was in the news for being somehow a NEW theme in rock 'n' roll. A "new" theme that proves that what adults have been saying for (literally) millenia is right: Kids These Days are Out of Control and it's all the fault of that awful "rap/rock and roll/jazz/ragtime/Tinpan Alley/Liszt/minuet/immoral combination of lute and singing" music! And OF COURSE that's true! It's always those people who are going out to have a good time who ruin the suffering for the Rest of Us!

Leaving Scientology is not very easy. It's like leaving the CIA. Scientology apparently has secrets it doesn't want anyone to know about. Suddenly, when Scientology is concerned about secrets (and refunds), it's a business that sells products. The rest of the time, it's a sacred holy Church. And you'd better not say it's a business with product, because then they'll sue--not like they won't sue for thinking about Scientology in the presence of others. Oh, and your old friends and family in the church will shun you--of "their own free will" of course.

Listen to the even, calm and collected Scientologists, and the hysterical non-scientologist. until someone mentions the Fucking Insane, Bipolar, Needs-anti-psychotic-drugs-badly COB, the Chokes-His-"Fellow-Parishoners"-More-than-Homer-Chokes-Bart himself, David Miscavige. Calm down. Larry! (Don't you love it when someone tells you to "calm down," when you yourself feel pretty calm? A sure way to light a fire, and most likely in a Tech somewhere.)

The clips this week comes from an old propaganda/brainwashing American men film, "Your job in Germany." Isn't it horrible how a country believes its so superior that it has the right to invade other countries so it can be the world's superpower? And the use of propaganda! Tsk! I guess the picture is right. They are born and bred with this belief of superiority. (snark)
